Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of Thinkladder?
Thinkladder is a mobile app, designed to increase self-awareness, foster a proactive approach to mental wellness, and complement your wellness routine. Thinkladder pulls on a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, but the primary feature, the Insight Finder, draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
CBT is considered the “gold standard” of therapy because it has been proven to be effective for a wide variety of mental health concerns and a way to see significant changes in a short period of time.
Studies show that apps to support inner well-being are most useful when used in conjunction with other professional support. Thinkladder is not designed to be a substitute for traditional therapy.
How does Thinkladder work?
The Insight Finder is a personalised, cognitive restructuring tool that allows you to build awareness of how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected. You start this experience by identifying a Symptom, then explore possible Limiting Beliefs that may be fuelling this Symptom for you. Finally, you’ll have an opportunity to challenge the Limiting Belief with an empowering affirmation, which we call an Insight.
Thinkladder covers a vast (and growing) range of topics within the human experience, so you’ll always be able to find a new self-awareness journey to embark on. The learnings you gain during this experience can be reinforced using our incredible Journaling prompts, alongside Insight Reminders to uplift you throughout the week.

Is the Thinkladder app clinically validated and safe?
User safety is our number one priority at Thinkladder.
Our app is built around tried, tested and proven therapeutic modalities. Thinkladder’s content is written by qualified wellness professionals and further vetted by clinical psychologists for optimal safety and efficacy. We’ve implemented safeguarding measures to ensure Thinkladder continues to fulfil this priority.
Should you ever have any concerns about Thinkladder’s safety, please get in touch via email@example.com.
Is my data safe?
Thinkladder recognises that individual privacy is sacrosanct. So all our analytics and reporting are very strictly anonymised and aggregated for this reason. If you are a part of a user cohort, such as our Financial Assistance Program, our researchers will not know who the participants are, only that they are part of this Program. Besides the name of the Program, the only thing that our researchers will know about participants is their Country and City.
How much does Thinkladder cost?
As of August 2023, Thinkladder’s monthly subscription in Aotearoa New Zealand is $7/month or $50/year (NZD) and in the USA $5/month or $40/year (USD). If you’re located somewhere else, the price will vary slightly depending on the currency at play. If your financial situation is keeping you from accessing Thinkladder, our Financial Assistance Program may be an option. You can request this in the app via Settings > Get Financial Assistance.
I’m having issues with the app. How can I get support?
If you need help with how to use Thinkladder, check out the “How To Use Thinkladder” guide on our website. If you think something may not be working as it should, please get in contact with us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I cancel my subscription?
The App Store and Google Play handle billing on iOS or Android respectively, so cancelling your subscription or trial must be done through your Apple or Google account rather than through the Thinkladder app.
